Elevated Wellness Massage: Therapeutic Bodywork on Forest Street

Elevated Wellness Massage is a therapeutic practice, not a spa day. Sylvia Lynn works out of 127 Forest Street, half a block off Central Avenue, and the range she offers is Swedish, deep tissue, cranial-sacral, and polarity work, mixed to suit whoever's on the table.

It's a one-room practice in a town where the nearest alternative is over the hill, which is most of the point. You can walk there from the middle of downtown.

Sessions and prices

The standard hour runs $120, in either of two forms. The signature session is Swedish work with hot towels and extra attention to feet and neck. The therapeutic session blends Swedish with polarity work. Both can be extended to 90 minutes, at $140 and $150 respectively.

Massage with stretching is an hour and a half at $140, combining Swedish technique with assisted stretching.

There's a 90-minute CBD massage at $185, and a couples session at $360.

If you want one thing addressed rather than a full-body hour, the area-specific session is $60 and targets a single region.

Booking

Booking is online through the practice's own site, and the phone is (831) 345-8043. Email is elevated_wellness@yahoo.com. Sessions are by appointment.

Who runs it

Sylvia Lynn owns and runs the practice, and publishes license #96769. Before massage, she came up through martial arts: she's a fifth-degree black belt and has taught both martial arts and cardio kickboxing.

The studio also stocks a small shelf of locally made things, including candles from Bitter Bee Candle Co and soaps and lotion bars from Ladder to the Moon, some of them made for sensitive skin.
