Springygirl: The Secondhand Boutique on Central Avenue
Spring Loftus started Springygirl in January 2016 in her stepfather's living room. Later that year she opened a shop in downtown Felton, then moved the business to Boulder Creek in 2019.
Before the boutique, Spring designed costumes for Little People's Repertory Theatre and the San Lorenzo Valley High School drama department. Today she selects the individual secondhand pieces that reach the shop's racks.
How the selection works
Springygirl doesn't take local clothing donations or consignments. Spring buys secondhand inventory from nonprofit organizations, then selects the individual pieces sold in the shop. The result is a dense, colorful room with closely packed racks, clothing displayed above them, and jewelry and accessories added after the move to the larger Boulder Creek space.
A shopper review published by Springygirl describes sizes from small through 4X. Other reviews the business has chosen to feature mention Spring pulling an unexpected piece from the rack for someone to try. Those are customer accounts rather than a promise about any visit, but they describe the active role she can take in the fitting process.
Because the stock is secondhand and individually selected, exact pieces turn over. New arrivals appear on Instagram; the shop itself remains the only place to buy.
