80 of 315 listings, 25 percent, are grouped under building and property work: general contractors, plumbers, electricians and solar installers, landscapers, excavators, tree crews, house cleaners, handymen and well-and-pump companies. General contractors alone are the largest single category at 25 listings, 8 percent of the directory. Fifty listings carry a license number, 21 of them contractors.
The directory count does not establish why this category is large. It does show how many listed services address steep parcels, private roads, septic systems, well water and post-fire rebuilding.
The second block is stranger and easy to miss until you count it. 54 of 315 listings, 17 percent, serve weddings, parties and events: 11 venues, 8 wedding services, 8 kids-party businesses, 7 caterers and bar services, 7 cake and dessert makers, 7 party rental companies, 6 florists. That is close to one listing in six, and it isn't weddings alone: kids' parties, rentals, florists and dessert makers are all counted in it.
